Hillcrest Community Centre

The Hillcrest Community Centre is an Edwardian School that has been converted into a multi-space community amenity, situated near the centre of Newhaven.  It is home to many local activities and community services and rooms can be hired to suit many purposes.  It has its own cafe, free car park and easy access for the disabled.
Activities: Art and craft classes, choir, creative writing, country market, dance classes and tea dances.
Sports: Martial arts and boxing.

Newhaven Enterprise Centre

Newhaven Enterprise Centre is a modern building providing small furnished incubator units for start-ups, workshops, and larger units aimed at businesses with one to ten people. It also hires out meeting rooms. Located on Denton Island and adjoining the town centre, there is easy access by road, public transport, and by sea – the town having a regular ferry service to France. Newhaven is situated midway between Brighton and Eastbourne, about five miles south of Lewes.

School Halls

Most of Newhaven’s schools will hire out their main halls or sports halls out of school hours.  For further information please contact the schools. See the entry for Seahaven Academy below.

Seahaven Academy
A community school at the top of the cliff in Newhaven. Facilities for hire include classrooms, meeting rooms, sports hall, gymnasium, tennis courts, sports fields and a technical food room. They are able to put together a package to suit individual needs and requirements. (For example, past events include birthday parties, weddings, local council meetings, local support groups and young people’s organisations.)

South Heighton Village Hall

Our neighbouring parish of South Heighton has its own village hall, also available for hire.  This is a flint building originally built in 1860 as the village school.

Denton Island Community Centre

Denton Island Community Centre has a range of rooms for hire. The centre team welcomes bookings from individuals, groups and organisations that provide services, activities, training, courses and more to our diverse community. Our rooms include small meeting rooms up to larger training/activity rooms as well as a well-equipped community kitchen. The centre’s sensory room is set up to promote child development and wellbeing through play, discovery and relaxation.

Riverside Hall

Run by Newhaven, Lewes & District Mencap, the hall is used primarily for functions to benefit club members but is also available for local groups to use and for private functions.
