Newhaven Cemetery Main Entrance Closure

For the attention of all users and stakeholders of Newhaven Cemetery (Lewes Road, Newhaven), the main entrance to the cemetery will remain closed until the middle of September. Our contractors have had to wait for some intrinsic parts to be able to finish the improvements to the gated entrance.
Additionally, there will be a lane closure leading to possible delays along the C7 from 29-31st July to enable the dropped kerb to be moved and the tarmacking of the area between the road and the gates.
Access into and out of the Cemetery will continue to be via the single width road which runs parallel to Bush Road to the south of Piddinghoe Mead and the Town Council requests that all vehicle drivers be careful and considerate of other road users during this time, showing particular respect to all funeral vehicles. This also means that there will be no parking permitted in the Cemetery forecourt/entrance area. Please contact the Council Offices (01273 516100) with any queries.
