Recreation grounds

Newhaven has several recreation grounds, and many of them are cared for by the Town Council. These include the Denton Recreation Ground on Denton Road, which has recently been given a fresh new look.

We also look after the Lewes Road Recreation Ground, where the play area was completely replaced with a new one in 2019. Valley Road play area and Parkour, as well as the East Side recreation ground, are also managed by the Town Council.

Fort Road and Avis Road recreation grounds are currently maintained by Lewes District Council. However, the District Council has agreed to transfer ownership of these sites to the Town Council, and this is expected to happen over the next couple of years
