Newhaven Cemetery Main Entrance Closure, May 5th – June 29th 2026

For the attention of all users and stakeholders of Newhaven Cemetery (Lewes Road, Newhaven), the main entrance to the cemetery will be closed during the aforementioned period to allow our contractors to make improvements to the gated entrance, the cemetery forecourt and the adjacent public toilets. Access into and out of the Cemetery will be via the single width road which runs parallel to Bush Road to the south of Piddinghoe Mead and the Town Council requests that all vehicle drivers be careful and considerate of other road users during this time, showing particular respect to all funeral vehicles. This also means that there will be no parking permitted in the Cemetery forecourt/entrance area. Please contact the Council Offices (01273 516100) with any queries.
