Applications Open for Newhaven Town Council’s Young Mayor
Big changes are coming to Newhaven – and Newhaven Town Council would like local young people between the ages of 13 – 17 to be a part of it.
This fantastic opportunity provides support to a young person to make a difference, represent the voices of other young people, and work alongside local councillors to help shape the future of Newhaven.
The Young Mayor will play an important role in:
- Representing the views and ideas of young people in Newhaven
- Working with local councillors and community leaders
- Attending events and assisting with the Mayors duties
- Leading a project and raising money for a chosen charity
- Helping to create positive change for young people in the town
Whether you are passionate about mental health, sports, the environment, youth activities, or another issue that matters to you, this is your chance to have your voice heard and make things happen. Please download the application/info pack below to find out more.
Candidates who apply will need to be available on the following dates:
- 5th May – Interviews and pitches
- 19th May – Young Mayor making ceremony
