At Newhaven and Seaford we aim to give young people an experience that will help them grow into the person they want to be in a safe and friendly environment. Through various activities and adventures, we learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, honesty and how to be the best version of ourselves.

We rehearse once a week on a Monday evening from 7pm – 8.30pm. Open to all – no audition required, no need to read music and the first ‘taster’ session is free. If you enjoy what we do and want to join us the weekly subscription is £5 thereafter.

Wood Creatives
Beginners as well as experienced wood creatives are very welcome. We are a diverse group who can help new members with informal technical and practical guidance.
The workspace has a wide range of machinery, woodworking hand tools and our own wood stocks that are available. All aspects of woodworking are possible from the usual – carving, turning, sculpture through to furniture designs and restoration projects – if it involves using wood this is the place. Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form Class
This class is open to beginners, places subject to availability. In this class the Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form will be taught with a focus on health, relaxed strength and vitality. It is especially good for helping and healing the back and spine, whilst also being great for overall wellbeing of the whole body.
You do not have to attend the previous Qigong and Tai Chi Foundations class in order to attend this one, but over the years I have seen how effective the first class has been in helping students progress with their full Tai Chi form. As I say, it’s not a requirement to attend the first class, you will still learn all you need to practice the Wu Style Short Form, but you would progress faster if you come to both.
The Wu Style Short Form is formed of 16 movements that can be performed in around 5 minutes, making it perfect for even the most busy of us. It was created to provide the maximum amount of internal impact, relaxed strength and soft healing development with the minimum amount of external movement. It is a really powerful and effective form that can be done at any age and can the benefits are far-reaching for people of all ages.
We run this class in 10 week terms through the year and the cost of the 10 weeks is £80.
We don’t run classes on bank holidays, over the Christmas period, or in August.

Qigong & Tai Chi Foundations Class
This class is open to beginners, places subject to availability. We will be focusing on simple and powerful Qigong movements and Tai Chi foundations to build an overall relaxed strength within the body. It’s not essential to attend this class if you just wish to learn the full Wu Style Tai Chi Short Form, but over the years I have witnessed people who spend time learning these foundation movements progress much better in the full form.
We will be opening the whole body with gentle but purposeful movements and learning the importance of shifting weight and turning while keeping our hips level, sinking chi within the body, keeping our ‘four points’ together, standing and dissolving as well as some Qigong forms such as Cloud Hands, The Marriage of Heaven and Earth, and The Willow Tree form.
